David P. Moody is a trial attorney with a passion for representing disabled and incapacitated citizens. Raised in Olympia, Washington, David received his undergraduate degree from the University of Washington in 1990. After graduating from George Washington University School of Law in 1993, David joined the Seattle office of Gordon, Thomas, Honeywell where he became a partner in 1998. He left the firm in 2005.
Among his cases on behalf of disabled and incapacitated citizens, David has served as the lead trial attorney, obtaining the largest jury verdict ever upheld against the State of Washington ($17.8 million); the lead trial attorney, securing the largest single-plaintiff settlement against the State of Washington, DSHS ($8.8 million); the lead trial attorney, obtaining the largest single-plaintiff jury verdict on behalf of an incapacitated adult in Kitsap County, Washington ($2.6 million); and the lead trial attorney, obtaining the largest single-plaintiff settlement on behalf of a developmentally disabled adult in eastern Washington ($2.25 million) and incapacitated child ($4.5 million) in Spokane County, Washington. David's cases are shaping the law and making positive changes for citizens like these.
David is actively involved in advocacy for citizens with disabilities, is a member of the Arc of King County, and serves as vice-president of the Arc of Washington State.
